Instructions

  1. Make homemade whipped cream topping, by whipping the heavy cream (2 cups) in a bowl of a stand mixer or with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form. For a sweeter dip, add 2-3 tablespoons powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, place in the fridge until ready to fold in.
  2. In a mixing bowl with a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese (8 ounces), powdered sugar (¾ cup), and vanilla extract (1 tsp) together until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Place Oreos (16-18) in a ziplock baggie and whack a few times with a rolling pin to break up, then roll a few times yielding some chunks and some crumbs.
  4. Fold in the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Gently fold in the crushed Oreos. Garnish with additional Oreo crumbs.
  5. Chill for 30 minutes before serving (if you can wait!)

Notes

  • Storage Tips
  • Refrigerate - Store in an airtight container or cover the large bowl tightly with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Though as usual, depending on your fridge, it might last longer, do the sniff test if it smells off, don't eat it. Freezing this dip is not recommended.
  • How long can Oreo fluff salad stay out? If you are serving this dessert dip outside on a hot day, probably only about an hour, though you can extend that by placing the bowl inside a bowl of ice, giving it another hour.
  • Or if serving for game day in the chill of winter, your dip can safely stay out for 2 hours. If needed, only put out a little at a time, keeping the remaining dip in the fridge and refilling the bowl as needed.
  • Gluten-Free Oreo Fluff | Swap the regular Oreos with gluten-free Oreos or your favorite GF sandwich cookie in this easy dessert.
  • Lower Sugar Oreo Fluff | You cannot make this recipe sugar-free or low-carb (hello cookies), unless you find sugar-free Oreos or other sandwich cream cookies, but you can reduce the sugar. Use a monk fruit powdered sugar replacement; this is my favorite brand.
  • Best Dippers for Oreo Fluff
  •
  • The calories shown are based on the recipe serving 10, about 3-4 tablespoons per person. Nutritional information does not include dippers; for the most accurate results, enter your serving amounts into a nutritional calculator.
  • The crushed Oreos should be somewhat coarse; you don’t want them too fine to retain some texture.
  • This dip can be served immediately, but it’s best to chill for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature so it is easier to work with.
  • Balance your dippers with salty and sweet items, like pretzels. Berries are delicious as well for the bit of tart that they add.
  • Get creative!! Experiment with add-ins like mini chocolate chips, crushed candy bars, or flavored extracts to create unique Oreo dip flavors.
  • Oreo Cookies: Trade the cold glass of milk for this delicious dessert dip next time you bring the Oreos! Other Cookies and Crackers: Vanilla wafers and crisp graham crackers are also tasty Oreo dip dippers with mild and sweet flavors. Pretzels: Salty and sweet! Try pretzel rods, butter snaps, or sourdough pretzels. Fresh Fruit: Juicy and full of flavor, fresh sliced fruit, like strawberries, bananas, apples, and pears, are perfect for the creamy texture of this dip recipe. Marshmallows: Dip mini marshmallows or full-size marshmallows for a chewy texture.  Cake Pieces: Slices of pound cake or angel food cake bring a soft and spongy texture to soak up the irresistible fluff flavors. Donut Holes: Glazed, chocolate, powdered – you name it! Chocolate-covered Pretzels: Add more sweetness to the salty and sweet combo with chocolate or yogurt-covered pretzels. Experiment with dark, milk, and white chocolate variations!
