Easy Salted Caramel Sauce

This caramel sauce tastes like you slaved over it for hours, yet it's only a few minutes in your microwave or on your stove top! Brown sugar eliminates the need to caramelize the sugar and tastes just as good, if not better!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Stove Top Method

  1. Combine the butter, sugar, and cream together in a medium sized pot. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Heat over medium high heat on your stove, whisking well.
  3. Keep cooking until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove and use on desserts.
  5. Store in a closed container in the fridge for up to a month.

Microwave Method

  1. Combine the butter, sugar, and cream together in a large microwave safe bowl. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Microwave for 2 minutes and then stir.
  3. Microwave for another 1-2 more minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Remove and use on desserts.
  5. Store in a closed container in the fridge for up to a month.
