Easy Smoked Old Fashioned Cocktail

The classic cocktail is given a stylish makeover in this cherry-flavored drink filled with rich, musky notes. Whiskey pairs seamlessly with the subtle hint of smoke and the overall effect is softened by sweet seasonal cherries. It’s beautiful, tasty and elegant.

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- cocktail cherry
- orange peel
- smoking gun
- ½ teaspoon water
- 2 ounces bourbon whiskey
- ice cubes
Instructions
- Add the sugar to a lowball glass and drop in the bitters. Add the cocktail cherry and orange peel.
- Using the smoking gun, fill the glass with smoke. Cover the glass with a larger glass or pitcher, wait 2 minutes and then release the smoke. Repeat.
- Remove the cherry and orange peel and set aside. Pour in the water and muddle it with the sugar using a muddler or wooden spoon until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add the bourbon and stir. Drop in ice cubes.
- Squeeze the orange peel into the drink and then gently run it around the edge of the glass. Place the orange peel and cocktail cherry back in the drink.
- Fill the glass with smoke again and cover. Wait 2 minutes, then release the smoke and serve.
