Ingredients
- 1 can strawberry pie filling 21 ounces
- 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
- 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing 17.5 ounces
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Open the can of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Cut each roll into quarters. Save the icing packet for later.
- In a large bowl, gently combine the strawberry pie filling, fresh strawberries, and cinnamon roll pieces until they are evenly mixed.
- Spread half of the strawberry cinnamon roll mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the first layer.
- Spread the remaining strawberry cinnamon roll mixture over the cream cheese dollops.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- About 5 minutes before the bake is done, warm the unopened glaze in a bowl of warm water, then stir it until smooth and drizzle over the bake as soon as it comes out of the oven. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Soften your cream cheese to room temperature before mixing.
- While the strawberry and cream cheese combo is a classic, you can try other fillings, like blueberry or peach.
- When combining the strawberry pie filling, fresh strawberries, and cinnamon roll pieces, be gentle and don't overmix. Overmixing can cause the cinnamon roll pieces to break apart and become mushy.
- Baking times can vary slightly depending on your oven. Start checking around the 35-minute mark. The dish is ready when golden brown and bubbly, with the cinnamon roll pieces cooked through.
- Let your bubble up cool for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the filling to set slightly, making it easier to serve and enjoy.
