Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/3 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 12 ounces cheddar cheese cut into 1-inch cubes
- 4 cups Frying oil such as vegetable oil
- freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Combine flour, salt, pepper, dried parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dip each cheese cube first in the flour mixture, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Freeze the coated cheese cubes for 40 minutes to set the coating.
- Heat oil to 375°F in a deep pot. Fry the cheese cubes in batches until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels. Serve warm with fresh parsley sprinkled on top.
