Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 1 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and spray a 9-inch Bundt cake pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another large bowl, beat together the oil, brown sugar, molasses, and vanilla until combined. Beat in the eggs, 1 at a time until combined.
  4. Alternating between the two, gradually beat in the sour cream and dry ingredients until combined and smooth.
  5. Pour the cake mixture into the Bundt pan.
  6. Bake for 50-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling for 10 minutes before placing onto a wire rack.

Frosting

  1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until combined.
  2. Carefully pour the cream cheese frosting onto the top of the cake.
  3. Place into the fridge for an hour before removing and serving.
