  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for rolling
  • ½ cup powdered sugar for rolling

Step No.1: Mix Dry Ingredients

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and salt.

Step No.2: Cream Butter & Sugar

Step No.3: Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients

  1. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until a soft dough forms.

Step No.4: Chill the Dough

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Step No.5: Preheat Oven & Prep Baking Sheet

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step No.6: Shape & Coat Cookies

  1. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball first in granulated sugar, then in powdered sugar.

Step No.7: Bake Until Set

  1. Place cookies on the baking sheet, spacing them apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until they puff up and crack.
