Ingredients
Hibiscus Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white sugar
- 4 hibiscus tea bags (or 1 cup dried hibiscus dried flowers (Jamaica))
To Make the Cocktail
- ½ cup Ice cubes
- 2 ounces silver tequila
- 2 ounce hibiscus syrup
- 2 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce triple sec
- Garnish with hibiscus flower or lime cut in wheels optional

Instructions
To Make the Hibiscus Syrup
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar and bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Add 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers or 4 hibiscus tea bags to the hot water and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain the flowers or remove the tea bags, and let the syrup cool. It will keep for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
To Make the Cocktail
- Add the 1 cup ice to a cocktail shaker and then add the 4 oz tequila, 2 oz hibiscus syrup, 1 oz lime juice and 1 oz triple sec.
- Cover and shake well for about 5 seconds.
- Pour the drink, including the ice, into a margarita or cocktail glass.
