Homemade Fish Fingers Recipe
Description
Homemade Fish Fingers Recipe uses fresh cod fillets cut into strips and coated sequentially in plain flour, whisked egg, and bread crumbs made from blended bread slices. The coating process ensures an even crust around each piece. Baking at 200°C for 15-20 minutes develops a golden finish while thoroughly cooking the fish. This method avoids frying, offering a baked alternative that retains the moistness of the cod with a crispy breadcrumb crust. The fish fingers work well as a main dish accompanied by sides or dipped sauces.
The layering of flour, egg, and crusted breadcrumbs creates a textured surface that crisps nicely in the oven. Baking also simplifies cleanup and reduces added fat. These fingers are appropriately sized and evenly coated, giving visual appeal and a satisfying bite. The recipe’s simplicity makes it easy to prepare with everyday ingredients.
