Notes
- Storage
- Storage
- Dried herbs and spices should always be stored in a cool dry place to ensure that the potency and freshness will last the longest.
- Substitutions
- Substitutions
- Garlic: Optional but it's definitely a big part of Italian cooking and we think it adds a good depth of flavor.
- Oregano: Can use all oregano or swap out some for some dried marjoram which is very similar but has some sweeter notes.
- Can I use fresh herbs?
- Can I use fresh herbs?
- You can of course make a fresh herb blend, but it will not store the same as using dried herbs. The conversion for using fresh to dried is 1 tablespoon of fresh herbs for every teaspoon of dried herbs, since dried is much more potent than fresh.
