Homemade Ranch Dressing
Description
Homemade Ranch Dressing blends buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise with homemade ranch seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create a smooth, creamy dressing with tangy and herby notes. Chilled for several hours, the dressing develops flavor depth and a balanced consistency. The optional hot sauce can introduce a mild spice, and chopped fresh chives contribute freshness and subtle onion hints.
This dressing is ideal for salads or as a dipping sauce. It offers a creamy texture suitable for complementing fresh vegetables or adding flavor to sandwiches and wraps. Preparing it in advance allows the flavors to fully integrate.
If buttermilk is unavailable, whole milk can be substituted, though the tanginess may be reduced. The recipe yields about 1 1/2 cups, enough for several servings.
