Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite sized pieces
- 3 cloves of garlic grated or minced (about 1 teaspoon)
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1/3 cup low sodium chicken broth
- 3 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons chili paste such as sambal oelek
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Sliced scallions and sesame seeds for garnish optional, but recommended
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients for the honey garlic sauce in a measuring glass or bowl and whisk them together.
- Season the chunks of chicken with salt and pepper and toss them in a tablespoon of cornstarch until they're coated.
- Add the oil to large skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add in the chicken. Spread it into a single layer and let it cook untouched for 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and continue to cook it until it's golden brown and cooked through. Stir in the garlic during the last minute of cooking.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce in with the chicken and continuously stir until the sauce thickens and coats all of the pieces of chicken, about 2-3 minutes. Garnish with sliced scallions and sesame seeds and serve over rice.
