Ingredients
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 Tablespoons mustard (dijon or yellow mustard)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 to 2 Tablespoons vinegar (white or apple cider)
Optional:
- 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and vinegar until well combined.
- Season: Taste and add salt and black pepper to taste, and whisk again to ensure everything is well mixed.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning or sweetness to your preference. If you prefer a tangier dressing, add a bit more mustard. If you like it sweeter, add a touch more honey.
- Chill: For best results, refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Store the dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Give it a good shake or stir before using it again.
Notes
- Honey: Use your favorite liquid, runny honey for this recipe. This adds not only sweetness but creaminess as well.
- Mustard: The type of mustard you choose to use is a personal flavor preference. Dijon mustard is a popular choice for honey mustard dressing due to its smooth texture and tangy flavor. However, you can also experiment with whole grain mustard for added texture or yellow mustard for a milder taste.
- Mayonnaise: Use full-fat mayonnaise which makes the dressing creamier and richer. My favorite mayonnaise is Duke's mayonnaise.
- Vinegar: You can use white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar in this recipe.
