Instructions

  1. Decide which method you will use to blanch and peel your almonds. If you are in a hurry, use hot water, if you want to soak your almonds overnight, use room temperature water.
  2. Place almonds in a bowl and pour water over the almonds.
  3. Leave the almonds to soak until the skin detaches.
  4. Strain almonds and remove the skin from each almond. Separate skin and almonds.
  5. Use your peeled almonds further in your cooking and baking.

Notes

  • Soaking time is variable and depends on the method that you chose. The quick soaking method uses boiling hot water and the almonds soak for about 60 seconds. The overnight soaking method takes about 6–8 hours, and it uses room temperature water.
  • Peeling each almond can take time.
