Ingredients
- 6 rasher streaky bacon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C(fan)?400°F/Gas 6). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Lay the bacon strips out in a single layer on the baking sheet. Make sure the strips don’t overlap to ensure even cooking.
- Put the baking sheet into the preheated oven. Bake for 10-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon and how crispy you like it.
- Once the bacon is done to your liking, use tongs or a fork to transfer the strips to a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess grease. Serve the bacon immediately or let it cool and store it for later use.
Notes
- For meatier, chewier bacon, opt for thick-cut strips.
- Bacon thickness and oven temperatures can vary, so start checking for doneness at the 10-minute mark - unless you like your bacon super crispy and burnt.
- Rotate the baking sheet halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
- Pour the bacon grease into a jar and save it for cooking. It adds incredible flavour to dishes like fried eggs, vegetables, and more. Although, there shouldn't be that much grease with this kind of cooking method.
- Twist each bacon strip before placing it on the baking sheet. This creates a fun, curly presentation and an extra-crispy texture.
