Instructions

  1. Add softened butter and sugar to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer beat the butter and sugar together on medium speed until well incorporated, about 2 minutes. Use a rubber spatula to scrape the sugar mixture off the sides of the mixing bowl a couple of times during the mixing time.
  3. The mixture will become a pale yellow, light, fluffy, and still have a bit of a grainy texture.
  4. Recipe tip. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl a couple of times during the creaming process. This will ensure all of the sugar is evenly distributed.
