Hunka Hunka Triple Chocolate Cookies

Hunka Hunka Triple Chocolate Cookies combine cocoa powder with chunks of both dark and white chocolate, creating a rich chocolate bite. The cold butter creamed with sugar forms a tender dough, while baking provides a crisp edge and soft center. These cookies offer varied chocolate textures and deep cocoa flavor, making them a thoughtful choice for chocolate lovers seeking a substantial, homemade treat.

Description

Hunka Hunka Triple Chocolate Cookies bring together cold butter creamed with sugar and eggs to create a creamy dough base enriched with cocoa powder. The addition of baking powder and salt balances texture and flavor. Chunks of both white and dark chocolate distribute throughout, melting into gooey pockets as the cookies bake. The oven temperature and baking time produce cookies with firm edges and a chewy center, showcasing distinct chocolate layers.

This cookie recipe suits occasions where a classic chocolate cookie is desired with added texture contrast from mixed chocolates. They bake into large spoonful portions, ideal for sharing or enjoying with a glass of milk or coffee.

Using high-quality cocoa powder, such as Callebaut or alternatives found in bulk, affects the final chocolate flavor intensity. Because the butter is cold when creamed, the method yields a denser, rich cookie that holds its shape well during baking.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup Butter, cold cut into small cubes
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder high quality
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1 cup white chocolate chunks
  • **Notes: I use Callebaut cocoa powder. It is high quality but it can be found for an incredibly low price at a Winco grocery store in their bulk bins. It's 4 times as much on Amazon. Trader Joe's has a nice cocoa powder as well.
