Instructions

  1. Peel and dice your carrot and onion. Clean and slice your celery. Load into the instant pot with extra virgin olive oil and saute.
  2. After a 2-3 minute sauté, press cancel and dump in everything else. Use your wooden spoon to scrape any bits of onion stuck to the bottom of the instant pot.
  3. Place the lid on the instant pot, set the valve to sealing and cook for 3 minutes, followed by a 3 minute natural pressure release. Then move to venting and remove any remaining pressure before removing the lid.
  4. Stir and do a taste test. If not flavoursome enough add some extra ketchup and seasoning. Then serve in bread rolls with coleslaw on the side.

Notes

  • Quantities. This sloppy joes recipe is enough to feed 4-5 people with one bread roll of sloppy joes each. You can double ingredients for a bigger batch and keep the same cook time.
  • Swaps. We used up carrots, celery, and onion that we already had in. You can do swaps based on what veggies you have that need using.
  • Thanks for reading our instant pot sloppy joes recipe on Recipe This. We have many more instant pot recipes for you to check out next. Though if you would like more delicious warm sandwich ideas, I recommend you try our instant pot brisket sliders next.
