Ingredients
- ½ cup Jack Daniels whiskey
- 1 cup onion diced
- 4 cloves garlic finely minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- ¾ cup honey or molasses
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup tomato paste
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine the Jack Daniel's whiskey, diced onion and minced garlic in a saucepan on the stove. Turn the heat on the stove to medium-high and bring to a simmer. Cook until the onion is translucent and almost all of the liquid is cooked down. This will take about 8-10 minutes.
- Add the ketchup, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring the sauce to boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, until reduced and thickened. Stir occasionally, this will take about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the sauce from the heat and transfer it to a blender, blend until smooth.
- Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
