Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ cup Jack Daniels whiskey
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¾ cup honey or molasses
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine the Jack Daniel's whiskey, diced onion and minced garlic in a saucepan on the stove. Turn the heat on the stove to medium-high and bring to a simmer. Cook until the onion is translucent and almost all of the liquid is cooked down. This will take about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Add the ketchup, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Bring the sauce to boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, until reduced and thickened. Stir occasionally, this will take about 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the sauce from the heat and transfer it to a blender, blend until smooth.
  5. Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
