Keto Bagel

The Keto Bagel recipe creates bread-like bagels without flour, using a blend of melted and shredded cheeses combined with eggs and everything bagel seasoning. Baking in a donut pan produces individual bagel shapes with a slightly crispy crust and soft, cheesy inside. This low-carb alternative suits those avoiding grains yet craving the bagel texture and the savory flavor imparted by the seasoning.

Description

The dough blends shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses with grated Parmesan and eggs until thoroughly combined. Dividing the mixture into six portions pressed into a greased donut pan shapes the bagels. Sprinkling everything bagel seasoning on top adds classic flavor notes of onion, sesame, and poppy seeds. Baking at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes melts the cheese fully and sets the bagels with a light golden crust.

The finished bagels have a dense, moist crumb characteristic of cheese-based doughs and deliver a combination of melted cheese flavors accented by the seasoning. They can be enjoyed on their own or with spreads compatible with a ketogenic diet.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup cheese cheddar, mozzarella, any kind of cheese that melts well, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese or asiago, other hard, dry, grated cheese, grated
  • 2 egg
  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine the shredded cheese, grated parmesan, and egg in a bowl and mix it until the ingredients are fully combined.
  3. Divide the mixture equally into six parts and press into well greased donut pan.
  4. Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over the tops of the egg and cheese mixture.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese has fully melted and created a slight brown crust.
  6. Feel free to mix up your cheese selection - but stick with one grated hard, dry cheese (like parmesan or asiago) to keep the flour-like texture.
