Ingredients
- 2 heets ready-rolled puff pastry
- 200 g Hazelnut creme (⅔ cup) can be subbed for Nutella
- 2 Bars Kinder Bueno, roughly crushed (4 sticks)
- 1 Small Egg, beaten
Topping
- 60 g Kinder chocolate, melted (~2oz)
- 3 Tablespoons Hazelnut creme
- 16 Kinder Mini Eggs (80g/2.8oz)
Instructions
- Line a large tray with baking paper and preheat your oven to 200℃ (400℉). If you're using a fan or convection, set it slightly lower at 180℃ (350℉).
- Unroll the first puff pastry sheet and place it onto your lined tray.
- Melt the hazelnut creme in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, until it's soft and runny.
- Spread the hazelnut creme over the pastry sheet, leaving a small gap around the edges. Then sprinkle over the crushed Kinder Bueno pieces.
- Top with the second puff pastry sheet then use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the pastry into 8 long strips.
- Twist the pastry strips then roll them into spirals (see images or video for reference).
- Place the spirals onto your lined baking tray and lightly brush with the beaten egg.
- Bake for around 15 minutes, or until the nests are golden brown all over.
- Leave to cool then drizzle melted Kinder chocolate and more hazelnut creme over each nest.
- Add the Kinder Mini Eggs, let the chocolate set then enjoy!
Notes
- To prevent cracks, let the puff pastry sit out at room temperature for 30 minutes before you start baking.
- Store leftover nests in an airtight container at room temperature and enjoy within 2 days.
