Lumumba Drink

The Lumumba Drink combines warm milk and hot chocolate powder sweetened with sugar, then enriched with brandy or brown rum for a smooth, spirited beverage. It can be served hot with whipped cream and cinnamon garnish or chilled over ice for a refreshing twist.

Description

The Lumumba Drink is prepared by gently warming milk with hot chocolate powder and optional sugar over medium-low heat without boiling. Once warm, it’s divided into cups and topped with brandy or brown rum, stirred together to meld. Optional whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon or chocolate sprinkles add flavor and presentation. Alternatively, the drink may be cooled and served over ice.

This drink offers a comforting mix of creamy chocolate and warming alcohol, balanced by the sweetness of sugar if added. Using plant-based milk can accommodate vegan preferences. The choice between brandy and rum provides flavor variation.

The recipe allows flexibility in sweetness and serving temperature, catering to personal taste. The whipped cream topping is optional, enhancing richness but not essential.
