Make Ahead Smoothies

Make Ahead Smoothies combine milk, frozen berries, banana, spinach, and optional protein powder for a nutritious and convenient drink. Blended until smooth and stored in mason jars, these smoothies can be frozen and enjoyed later, offering a quick, ready-to-drink option that retains flavor and texture after thawing or microwaving. This makes them ideal for busy mornings or meal prep.

Description

This smoothie recipe mixes a base of milk with frozen berries, banana, spinach, and optional protein powder to create a balanced, nutrient-rich beverage. The ingredients blend smoothly to incorporate the fruit and greens evenly without chunks.

Portioning the smoothies into mason jars with space left at the top allows them to expand when frozen. Sealed, these jars can be stored in the freezer for up to three months, preserving flavor and nutrition.

When ready to consume, letting the smoothie thaw at room temperature for about an hour or microwaving until no longer solid provides a smooth texture similar to freshly blended smoothies. Shaking the jar before drinking helps re-mix any separation that occurs during freezing and thawing.
