Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 yellow onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Add the olive oil and onion to the pan and sauté until very lightly browned.
- Spoon in the garlic and cook for another 20 seconds.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and simmer, covered, on low for 30 minutes.
