Mars Bar Slice
Report
This Mars Bar Slice (Milky Way Slice) makes a fun and easy treat that the whole family will love. It's perfect for packing in lunches, serving at morning teas or bake sales, or even gifting to friends and family. It is a classic Australian chocolatey, caramelly, and crunchy recipe. It is a no-bake recipe with just 15 minutes of prep time! It is sure to become a family favorite in no time. Just be warned - once you take a bite, you might not be able to resist going back for seconds.

- Stir in the puffed rice cereal and press the mixture evenly into the lined tray. Push the mixture firmly to ensure the finished slice doesn't crumble.3 cups / 150 g puffed rice cereal
- Put the milk chocolate and vegetable oil in a microwavable bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 3 minutes, stirring every 20-30 seconds until the mixture completely melts.9 oz / 250 g milk chocolate1½ tbsp vegetable oil
- Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the slice.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 hours until set solid.
- Use a hot, dry knife to cut your slice into even squares.
Notes
- Mars Bars are a popular chocolate bar with nougat and caramel enrobed in smooth chocolate. They are called Milky Ways in the US.
- The most common puffed rice cereals are Rice Bubbles or Rice Krispies, but you can use any puffed rice cereal.
- I like to use a bar of milk chocolate for the topping. Cooking chocolate doesn't have the same creamy taste.
- If your Mars bar and butter mixture seems to separate, don't worry; remove it from the heat, stir it well, and then add it to the puffed rice.
