  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup matcha green tea powder
  • ½ cup lemon juice fresh

Instructions

  1. Start by making the honey simple syrup. Mix together the honey and ½ cup of hot tap water until the honey dissolves.
  2. Add the matcha and ½ cup of cold water to a cup and mix it until the matcha becomes a paste. See notes.
  3. Add the matcha paste, honey simple syrup, lemon juice, and the remaining 5 cups of water to a pitcher and stir. Add a few handfuls of ice cubes and stir again.

Notes

  • If matcha does not fully dissolve, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve prior to mixing with the lemonade to prevent gritty bits.
  • Single servings can be prepared using 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 teaspoons matcha, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in the same preparation order.
