Mississippi Mud Pie

Chocolate lovers, this Mississippi Mud Pie is for you! A silky chocolate filling topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, all eaten on an Oreo crust. It doesn't get much more delicious than that!

Ingredients

Cookie Crust

  • 30 Oreo cookies
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 pinch salt

Brownie Layer

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

Pudding layer

  • (1) .9 ounce package chocolate pudding
  • 2 cups whole milk

Whipped topping

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

Crust

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the cookies in a food processor and process until you have a fine crumb.
  3. Add the melted butter and salt to the food processor and mix until combined. Press the cookie mixture into a 9-inch pie dish or tart pan (just make sure the tart pan has 2-inch sides if using one.)
  4. Bake for 10 Minutes. Let cool while you mix together the brownie layer.

Brownie Layer

  1. In a large bowl, add the butter and chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave in 20-second intervals until fully melted, stirring between intervals.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients to the melted chocolate and mix until combined.
  3. Add to the baked oreo crust. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  4. Let cool completely.

Pudding Layer

  1. Whisk together the pudding mix and milk and set aside to thicken.
  2. Once thickened, pour over the cooled brownie layer. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4-5 hours.

Whipped Topping

  1. Add the whipped cream and powdered sugar to a large bowl. Beat with a hand mixer until medium stiff peaks.
  2. Top the chilled pie with the whipped cream. Add chocolate curls, crushed oreos, or a chocolate sauce drizzle if desired.
