Mistletoe Cranberry Margarita
Description
This cocktail recipe for Mistletoe Cranberry Margarita uses a combination of silver tequila, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, and Cointreau, a citrus-flavored liqueur, to create a balanced margarita with tart and slightly sweet notes. Rimming the glass with kosher salt adds a savory contrast to the drink's fruity flavors. The addition of sugared cranberries and a sprig of rosemary enhances its festive appearance and adds subtle fresh herbal and fruity aromas.
The preparation involves shaking the ingredients with ice to chill and mix them well before serving over ice in the salted glass. The use of plenty of ice ensures a slow dilution, helping the cocktail stay cold and balanced over time.
Serving in clear glassware highlights the vibrant color of the drink, and garnishes contribute to a celebratory presentation appropriate for winter holidays or gatherings. The recipe notes provide guidance on sugaring cranberries and selecting good quality tequila for optimal flavor.

- ice
- 5 ounces cranberry juice
- 1 ½ ounces lime juice fresh
- 1 ½ ounces tequila silver
- 1 ounce Cointreau

- Fill the glass with ice.
- Put more ice in a cocktail shaker and add the cranberry juice, lime juice, tequila and Cointreau.

Notes
- To make sugared cranberries, toss them with lime juice then coat with sugar and let dry before garnishing.
- Fill the glass fully with ice so the drink remains chilled longer without quick dilution.
- Use quality silver tequila, as it strongly influences the cocktail’s flavor.
- Prepare ingredients ahead of time to streamline drink assembly when serving guests.
- Any clear glassware works well; traditional margarita glasses are optional.
