One Pot BBQ Chicken Pasta

One Pot BBQ Chicken Pasta combines bacon, chicken, pasta, and a smoky barbecue sauce in a single pot. The dish simmers pasta in a flavorful broth with tomatoes, milk, and spices, resulting in a creamy and savory meal. Cheddar cheese melted at the end adds a rich, sharp finish. This all-in-one recipe simplifies cleanup and makes a hearty dish with balanced flavors of smoky, spicy, and creamy.

Description

This recipe starts by browning diced bacon in a large pot until crisp, then cooking chunks of boneless chicken breast until golden. Garlic and diced onion are cooked until softened, building the aromatic base. The liquid ingredients—chicken broth, canned diced tomatoes, and milk—are added along with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to create a flavorful cooking environment for the rotini pasta.

The pasta cooks covered, absorbing the broth and tomato juices, resulting in tender noodles infused with savory depth. After the pasta is done, barbecue sauce and shredded cheddar cheese are stirred in off heat or on low until melted, imparting smoky barbecue flavor balanced by creamy cheese. The red pepper flakes add a mild heat, enhancing the overall taste without overpowering.

This hearty pasta works well as a main dish with a balance of protein, starch, and flavor layers. The one-pot method reduces dishwashing and allows the flavors to meld during cooking. Serving promptly preserves the creamy texture, though leftovers can be reheated gently.
