A mug of creamy Peppermint Hot Chocolate is the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter’s night.

Ingredients
- 10 ounces milk whole or 2% is preferable
- 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- 3-4 starlight peppermint candies, crushed
Instructions
- In small saucepan, heat milk, chocolate syrup,and peppermints on low to medium low heat. Stir or whisk until milk is hot and peppermints have dissolved. Do not overheat or boil milk.
- Serve in a mug. Top with whipped cream or mini marshmallows and crushed peppermints if desired.
Notes
- Try your preferred milk, such as 1%, skim, almond, etc. It's best to stick with an unsweetened milk.
- Crush the peppermints by placing in a Ziploc-style bag and break up by using a rolling pin or flat mallet. Crush extra for topping if desired.
