- ¼ cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamier sauce)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

Instructions
- Cook pasta: Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving about ½ cup of pasta water.
- Cook shrimp and mushrooms: While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, until softened and browned. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more, until fragrant.
- Add shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through. Do not overcook.
