Puff Pastry Cinnamon Twists

Quick and easy crowd pleasing recipe! These super simple 4-ingredient puff pastry cinnamon twists can be thrown together in about half an hour, prepped in advance or even completely made ahead for a crisp cinnamon sugar sweet, perfect treat for any occasion or even just a snack.

  • 2 store bought puff pastry sheets Let these set out at room temperature for about 15 minutes to make them easier to work with.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup light brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425℉ (220C/200C Fan).
  2. Unroll the first sheet of puff pastry and place either on a lined or floured work surface (I keep mine on the grease proof paper that is used to roll the dough).
  3. Brush the surface with a generous layer of melted butter.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this over the surface of the buttered pastry.
  5. Unroll the second sheet of puff pastry and place on top, sandwiching the layer of cinnamon sugar.
  6. Use a sharp knife or dough cutter to divide the pastry into 16 strips.
  7. Working one strip at a time, hold each end and twist in opposite directions until the pastry has swirled.
  8. Place the twists on a lined baking sheet at least an inch apart. Brush with more melted butter.
  9. Bake in the centre of the preheated oven for about 12 minutes until well puffed and golden.
  10. When ready, remove from the oven and allow to cool on the pan for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
