For the Vanilla Batter:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 1 Large Egg

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Make the Red Velvet Batter:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
