For the Cupcakes:

  • 1 bag of Reese's peanut butter cups minis
  • 1 chocolate cake mix

Peanut Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 3 Tbsp milk

Instructions

For the Cupcakes:

  1. Place the Reese's in the freezer (make it easier to use). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the cake mix based on the package instructions.
  3. Pour the batter into the cupcake tins and cook for half the time on the box.
  4. Pull them out of the oven. Unwrap the peanut butter cups.
  5. Place one peanut butter cup in the middle of each cupcake. You may need to push down slightly.
  6. Place back in the oven and cook for the remaining time.
  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

Peanut Buttercream Frosting:

  1. Chop up the remaining peanut butter cups.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and peanut butter until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with milk, beating after each additional until desired consistency.
  4. Frost cupcakes and garnish with the chopped peanut butter cups.
  5. Then the cupcakes are ready to serve and enjoy!
