- 10 oz. package of guava paste
- 10 oz. of queijo Minas Frescal* try queso fresco, queso blanco (white cheese) or queso panela, or see the notes below for more options
Instructions
- Slice guava paste and cheese into matching shapes. You can do this in slices or cubes. You want them to be similarly sized to where they look fairly even when served together.
- Arrange the slices on a serving plate or skewer the cubes into bite-sized pieces with toothpicks and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.

- *Good alternative to Brazilian queijo Minas Frescal, which is a soft, fresh cheese with a slightly tangy and creamy flavor are ones that have mild, milky cheese with a soft yet sliceable texture. Fresh mozzarella and Ricotta salata could also work - it won't be the closest to perfect replacement, but they'll be fun.
