Salty Sweet Caramel Pretzel Cookies

Salty Sweet Caramel Pretzel Cookies blend the crunch and saltiness of pretzels with sweet caramel bits and milk chocolate chips in a soft cookie dough. The dough is creamed with butter and sugars before adding eggs, vanilla, and optional powdered milk, then combined with dry ingredients and mix-ins. Baked until lightly golden, these cookies offer a contrast of sweet, salty, and chewy textures.

Description

This cookie recipe combines softened butter with brown and white sugar to create a creamy base, which is then mixed with eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla for richness. An optional addition of powdered milk enhances the texture. Wheat flour, baking soda, and salt are folded in to provide structure. Three key mix-ins — milk chocolate chips, caramel bits, and broken pretzel pieces — create a balance of sweet, salty, and chewy elements.

The dough is dropped onto a lined baking sheet using a Silpat or parchment to prevent sticking, then baked at 350°F until the edges are lightly golden. The result is a cookie with crispy edges and a tender center, featuring pockets of melted chocolate and caramel contrasted with crunchy pretzel pieces that add saltiness.
