Shrimp Scampi
Description
Shrimp Scampi involves cooking linguine pasta alongside shrimp sautéed in unsalted butter with garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to infuse mild heat. White wine and freshly squeezed lemon juice are added next, simmering until reduced to form a tangy, flavorful sauce. The dish is tossed with lemon zest and freshly chopped parsley to enhance freshness and brightness.
The shrimp turn pink and tender with a buttery coating, while the linguine carries the sauce, allowing each bite to combine garlic, citrus, and a hint of spice. Topping it with freshly grated Parmesan adds a savory, slightly salty finish that complements the seafood and acidity.
This dish is suited to an immediate serving, highlighting the delicacy of the shrimp and preventing pasta from overcooking. It pairs well with a light salad or crusty bread to complete the meal. The recipe notes mention that chicken stock can substitute white wine for a non-alcoholic version.
