Description
This Paloma recipe combines freshly juiced grapefruit with tequila and lime juice stirred together in a glass filled with ice. A splash of grapefruit-flavored sparkling water can add effervescence without added sugar. The optional salt rim enhances the tartness and provides a contrast to the citrus elements.
The resulting cocktail is lively and citrusy, suitable for warm weather or as a light mixed drink. Fresh juicing allows control over sweetness and freshness, avoiding commercial mixers.

Ingredients
- 12 ounces grapefruit juice 2-3 pink or red grapefruits, juiced, fresh
- 3 ounces tequila
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- ice
- sparkling water optional, grapefruit flavored
- sea salt flakes for the rim, or pink Himalayan sea salt
Instructions
- Add 1 shot of tequila, 6 ounces of grapefruit juice, 1 teaspoon of lime juice and ice into each glass. Stir to combine, add of splash of sparkling water (if using) and garnish with a lime wedge.
Notes
- Adding grapefruit-flavored sparkling water gives the drink a refreshing fizz.
- Freshly juiced grapefruit provides the best flavor; adjust lime and tequila amounts to personal taste.
