Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce
Description
This Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce begins by browning ground beef and Italian sausage with minced onion and garlic to create a savory meat mixture. After draining excess fat, the meat is transferred to a slow cooker along with diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, bay leaves, oregano, basil, and seasoning. Slow cooking on low for 8 hours allows the flavors to meld and the meat to become tender while the sauce thickens slightly.
The finished sauce combines the heartiness of ground beef and sausage with aromatic herbs and the acidity of tomato, delivering a well-rounded and satisfying tomato sauce. This slow cooking method develops a deep flavor without requiring attentive stove time.
Serve the sauce over your preferred pasta for a classic spaghetti dish or use it as a base for other Italian-inspired meals. Removing bay leaves before serving is recommended.
