Ingredients
Herbed Cream Cheese:
- 8 oz whipped cream cheese
- 1 Tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
For Flatbread:
- 1 pita, Naan, or flatbread of choice I used Naan (use mini Naan or Joseph’s Pita for lower carb)
- 2 Tbsp herbed cream cheese
- 2 oz smoked salmon
- 1 hard boiled egg quartered
- 1/4 cup red onion sliced or diced
- 1 Tbsp capers optional
- Arugula and fresh dill for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place the flatbread on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil if desired (or spray with cooking spray). Bake for 5 minutes, then let cool for 5-7 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix all the ingredients together to make the herbed cream cheese.
- Once the flatbread has cooled, spread the cream cheese on top.
- Top with smoked salmon, red onions, arugula, capers, and fresh dill. Then slice and enjoy!
Equipments used:
Notes
- To make gluten-free: use gluten-free flatbread of choice.
- To make dairy-free: use dairy-free cream cheese.
- This homemade herb cream cheese is incredibly fresh and delicious, but feel free to use store bought to save time!
- How To Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs
- Place eggs in a large saucepan. Cover them with cool water by 1 inch. Bring water to a boil (for easier to peel eggs, add 1/2 Tbsp salt and 1 Tbsp vinegar). Once at a rolling boil, set the timer for exactly 10 minutes (for perfect hard-boiled eggs) then remove from heat. Run eggs over cold water for a few minutes until all the hot water is gone and you’re left with the cold water. Let eggs sit in the cool water for 10 minutes until they reach room temperature.
