Smoked Salmon Dip
Report
Smoked Salmon Dip is a delightful little appetizer that tastes like your favorite smoked salmon bagel filling, but in a dip form. While this is a fancy appetizer/dip, it's truly super easy and quick to make. The ingredients are minimal, and it's made with real smoked salmon unlike store bought versions.

Notes
- You can use homemade Lox Salmon if you make it! It will have a different flavor but would work just so well!
- If buying smoked salmon, make sure to buy quality salmon as it's the hero ingredient.
- We love using a combo of mayo and sour cream however you can use one or the other, or even use Greek yogurt/ Sour cream adds the perfect creaminess with a tang, while mayo adds a richness to the dip.
- Lemon zest along with the juice adds a robust lemon flavor without watering down your smoked salmon dip.
- When making smoked salmon dip, we've found that processing all ingredients except smoked salmon and dill at first is KEY to chunky salmon texture.
- If you love a smooth dip, feel free to process all ingredients at the same time.
- If you don't have a food processor, you can blend in the cream cheese using a blender or hand mixer. The remaining ingredients can be finely chopped or blended in as well.
- We can't stress enough those Pita Chips! SO GOOD! We also love some cucumbers, apples (yes! sweet and tangy), bagel chips would be wonderful, Easy No Knead Bread or any crunchy bread. Crackers, carrot sticks or any veggies are great options too.
- You can keep this recipe all prepared in the fridge for up to 6 days. The smoked salmon is usually fresh and best eaten within a week. So this is a great make ahead recipe.
- If you're looking for a dairy free option, you can use vegan cream cheese. And if you're simply not a fan of cream cheese, you can substitute it with extra sour cream and mayonnaise combo, or one or the other, or Greek Yogurt.
- YES! You can double, triple and make as many times of it depending on how many servings you want.
- We have LOVED using this recipe spread on bagels and toasts as a smoked salmon spread! It's loaded with all the flavors we love to make a great bagel. The one thing we added to our toast was some sliced avocados and arugula. SO GOOD!
