Spicy Salt
Report
It is incredibly easy to make your own spicy salt. You can use commercially prepared pepper products, or make your own.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup coarse kosher or sea salt
- 1 Tbsp ground cayenne pepper see notes below
Add to Shopping List
Instructions
- If using dried peppers. Grind peppers with mini grinder or spice mill or mortar and pestle or molcajete. Commercially prepared ground pepper products can also be used.
- Combine salt with ground peppers. I like to leave it a bit coarse.
- Taste salt to make sure it is within your heat tolerance range. Add more peppers if it is not spicy enough or more salt if it is too salty.
- Store in an air tight container indefinitely.
Notes
- Salt can range from mild to spicy depending on which peppers you use. See notes in article above for pepper choices.
