Spiked Cider Recipe

Spiked Cider combines unfiltered apple juice with warming spices like cinnamon, cloves, ginger, star anise, and peppercorns, gently simmered together and then mixed with bourbon or spiced rum. The drink is served hot with a cinnamon sugar-rimmed glass, creating a spicy, sweet beverage with aromatic depth suitable for cooler weather.

Description

This Spiked Cider Recipe starts by heating unfiltered apple juice with a blend of whole spices including cinnamon sticks, cloves, fresh ginger slices, star anise, and peppercorns. After simmering gently to infuse flavors, the mixture is strained to a clear spiced cider. The rim of serving glasses is coated in cinnamon sugar for added sweetness and aroma. Bourbon or spiced rum is divided between glasses and topped with the hot spiced cider.

The resulting drink features layers of warm spice balanced by the natural sweetness of the apple juice and the warmth of the alcohol. It’s served hot to be enjoyed as a comforting seasonal beverage.

Ideal for serving at gatherings or relaxing at home, the spiced cider warms up the palate and can be prepared quickly with common spices.
