Strawberry Frosting

Butter cream strawberry frosting recipe for all your baked goods. Perfect for those homemade cupcakes, cakes and cookies as well as an easy way to spruce up any prepared baked treat. See the notes to adjust this recipe to a sugar free strawberry frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 3-6 cups powdered sugar depending on consistency wanted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
  • 2-4 tablespoons milk half-and-half or heavy cream, depending on consistency
  • 1/2 cup Strawberry Puree

Instructions

  1. Make strawberry puree and let cool completely.
  2. Add butter to large bowl or mixing bowl for stand mixer, beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla or almond extract.
  4. Gradually add powdered sugar, alternating with milk.
  5. Fold in strawberry puree.
  6. Decorate your baked goods.

Notes

  • Sugar Free Strawberry Frosting - use 3/4 - 1 cup sugar free confectioner's sugar alternative like Swerve. In addition, add cream cheese after creaming the butter to add a thicker consistency. All other instructions remain the same.
