  3. Let the tea cool completely. You can set it aside on the counter to cool, or add it to a bowl over a larger bowl of ice (ice bath).
  4. To serve in a jug: fill the jug slightly with ice, add the cooled tea and add ¼ cup of strawberry simple syrup. Taste and add more syrup if desired or dilute wiht tea or water.
  5. To make in glasses: fill glasses with ice, fill with tea and stir in 1-3 tablespoons of strawberry syrup, or to taste.
  6. Add some strawberry slices and a few sprigs of mint, to garnish.

Notes

  • If you’re serving a large amount of strawberry tea, serve the strawberry syrup separately from the iced tea so guests can add strawberry syrup to suit their own personal tastes and level of sweetness.
  • When brewing the tea, make sure you don’t steep it past the recommended time or it can become bitter.
  • Add a pinch of baking soda or salt to the strawberry iced tea for a smoother taste and to combat any bitter flavor from the tea.
  • Large family-sized tea bags can also be used to make a large batch of tea.
  • Make sure the tea is fully cooled before adding the syrup or ice to make sure the flavors are balanced. If you don’t have time to let it cool, pour over a bowl of ice to quicken up the cooling process.
