Stuffing Topped Chicken Pot Pie

Stuffing Topped Chicken Pot Pie layers cooked chicken and sautéed vegetables in a creamy sauce, baked under a crisp stovetop stuffing topping. This version skips traditional pie crust in favor of a seasoned stuffing, offering a hearty casserole with tender chicken, rich sauce, and a crunchy, savory crust. It provides a warm comfort dish ideal for family meals.

Description

The Stuffing Topped Chicken Pot Pie begins by cooking diced or shredded chicken breast and sautéing onions and mixed vegetables in butter. These protein and vegetable layers are placed in a baking dish, then covered with a creamy sauce made from cream of chicken soup, milk, and flour. Simmering the sauce thickens it into a smooth, flavorful base that binds the ingredients.

Instead of pie crust, prepared stovetop stuffing forms the topping, adding a savory crunch after baking. The dish is baked until the stuffing is golden and the filling bubbly, offering a textural contrast between creamy filling and crisp topping. This method simplifies pot pie assembly while maintaining familiar flavors.

This casserole serves as an approachable comfort food, suitable for weeknight dinners or potlucks. It combines the appeal of chicken pot pie with the convenience of boxed stuffing and canned soup, delivering a satisfying and filling entree.
