Sudanese Cinnamon Tea

A recipe for Sudanese Cinnamon Tea! Black tea leaves are steeped in hot water with cinnamon sticks for a warming and comforting drink.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (710 milliliters) water
  • 1 tablespoon black tea bagged or loose
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • sugar cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan or tea kettle, bring water to a boil. For a stronger cinnamon flavor, add the cinnamon sticks as the water heats up.
  2. Remove pan from heat and add the tea leaves and cinnamon sticks if not added before. Allow to steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add sugar to sweeten as desired.
  4. If using loose tea leaves, strain the mixture and pour into tea cups. Serve hot with additional sugar cubes.
