Ful sudani are traditional peanut-based macarons that are originally from Sudan.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsalted peanuts
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F (180˚C).
  2. Roast peanuts.
  3. Remove their skin by rubbing vigorously between your hands.
  4. Grind them until reaching a grainy texture (not fine powder).
  5. Split the vanilla bean in half, remove the seeds and mix with peanuts.
  6. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff.
  7. Lower the power of the food processor and add the icing sugar very slowly in small quantities.
  8. Finally incorporate the peanuts.
  9. On a baking sheet with parchment paper, place small and well spaced spoonfuls of the dough.
  10. Bake for 15 minutes.
  11. The macarons should be lightly colored.
