Toffee Sauce

My easy toffee sauce recipe is smooth, rich and indulgent. This golden sauce is perfect for pouring over anything from ice cream to cakes or a slice of pie.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 300 ml thickened cream heavy cream
  • 50 g salted butter cubed
  • 90 g dark brown sugar
  • 110 g light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once the butter has melted, stir the mixture to incorporate then continue to simmer over medium-low heat for 2 minutes or until you achieve your desired consistency (see my notes).
  3. Serve warm.
