Instructions

  1. First, head over to the recipe for mango syrup and whip up a batch. You just need 10 minutes and fresh or frozen mango, water, sugar, and vanilla.

To serve:

  1. Fill a glass with ice and add 2 tablespoons of mango soda syrup, or more or less to taste (amount will depend on the size of your glass).
  2. Top up with club soda.
  3. TIP: To make an Italian Cream Mango Soda, stir in 1 teaspoon half-and-half (or double cream) before serving.

Notes

  • Variations
  • Muddle in some fresh mint or basil for a fresh herb take on this summer drink.
  • Use frozen fruit as the ice cubes for additional fruit flavor.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for a slightly warm flavor that will pair well with the vanilla.
  • Use flavored sparkling water for additional flavor with no extra sweetener.
  • Make sure the syrup is fully cooled and chilled in the fridge before adding it into a glass with soda water.
  • The level of sweetness depends on the person and if you’re making a cocktail, so more or less syrup may be needed in each glass.
  • Homemade soda is best consumed immediately and tastes best if it’s mixed right before serving. This will also help keep it carbonated for as long as possible.
